Query: I am seeking information about my GG Grandfather Andreas Nicholas
SCHRIMPF.  He is said to have drowned in the Brazos River while on a
cattle drive around July 15, 1879.  His wife Rebecca Francis MEADOR
received a letter telling her of this, but we don't know if/when his
body was recovered nor where he may have been buried.  Were there
newspaper obituaries for the area during this time perior?  Are they
archived somewhere?  I would also like information about typical
conditions surrounding the cattle drives crossing over the Brazos. Thank
