McAdoo prior to the census.  James is not listed with her and her three children by James Mugg nor is he with his children it has not been confirmed that the George McAdoo age 45, who is caring for James and Jane's children is a brother to James.

Funeral Services for Mrs M.E. McCaghren 81, mother of Mrs Carl G. Willie, 1407 Monroe will be held from the chapel of the Hines Mortuary Sunday morning at nine o'clock. Mrs McCaghren died in a Wichita Falls hospital about 1 o'clock Friday afternoon. She had made her home in Wichita Falls about nine years, she made her home with her daughter. Survivors other than Mrs Willie include a daughter, Miss Dez McCaghren, who resides at the same address; a son Ad McCaghren of Quitaque, Tx and a son Miles McCaghren in California. She leaves 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The
Quitque son was at her bedside the other son is expected to arrive.  Rev. S.F. Martin Pastor of the Lamar Ave. Baptist church will officiate. The body will be forwarded to Gorman, Texas for burial following funeral services here.

Thomas Elmore McAdoo, Pioneer Resident, died Saturday: Thomas E. McAdoo, 83 a pioneer resident of Runnels County and a retired Winters grocer, died Saturday at 5:45 AM at his home, He suffered a broken hip in January and had been bedfast since that time.  A native Texan, Mr. McAdoo was born May 20, 1876 in Bosque County and moved with his parents to Gorman when he was a child. He moved to Winters in 1920 and was married to Viola Fisher on Nov 11, 1924 in Ballenger. Mr. McAdoo retired in 1950. He
was a member of the Baptist Church.  Funeral service was held Sunday at 1:30 PM. in the First Baptist Church with the Rev.B.T, Shoemake the pastor officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.Survivors include his wife, one son; one grandson and two sisters Mrs Amos (Eva Bryan) Pence of Odessa and Mrs Columbus Robbins(Eva Angelina)

PLAINVIEW EVENING HERALD--Tuesday August 10, 1954-Plainview, TX

Mrs Lewis died of injuries she recieved when the automobile driven by her husband struck a culvert abutment and overturned in a ditch at the edge of San Antonio. They were the only occupants of the car. Lewis, Justice of the peace for almost sixteen years was not seriously injured. He is to arrive here tonight by ambulance from San Antonio where he underwent treatment for his injuries.Anna McAdoo Lewis and her family came to Hale County in 1924 from Comanche County. the family moved to Plainview more than twenty years ago. She was a member of the Plainview First Baptist Church, member of the
Friendship Club and Womens Sunday School class of the church the pastor Rev. Harlan Harris conducted the service.  Mr and Mrs Lewis left Plainview Thursday on a vacation trip. They had visited relatives in Winters and DeLeon and were on their way to the coast
when the accident occurred.
