Documentation:
------------------------------------------------------
Nathan and Lafayette were living with their father in
Bosque County, Texas in 1880.  Medra and Norban were living with their
maternal grandparents in Bosque County.  A Susan Biffle was living in
Travis County, Texas in a State Hospital.  At this time, there is no
proof that she was the wife of Wilson Biffle, but her age and place of
birth fit.  I have absolutely no proof that Lafayette and Fred are the
same person.  All of the evidence that I have found, however, points in
that direction.  The name, Lafayette Biffle, disappears from the census
after 1880.  It is always possible that the census taker recorded the
name incorrectly.  Fred doesn't appear on the census until 1910. Cynthia
Ann Biffle Sweeney, sister of Wilson M. Biffle, said, in her biography,
that she had a nephew named Fred Biffle.  Wilson and Cynthia were the
only two of the eight children born to their mother to survive to
adulthood.
