Honorable Mentioned County of the Month February 2009
TXGenWeb Project
Organized in 1887 and carved from Presidio Presidio County, Brewster County is the largest
county in the state of Texas. Larger than the state of Connecticut, this county is
situated in the Big Bend area of western Texas. The county seat is Alpine.
The county was named for Henry P. Brewster, Secretary of War.
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
If you like the Brewster County TXGenWeb Site, please nominate it for County Of The Month.
Thank You.
