2nd Lt. Lawrence G. Chapman

was born on June 26, 1909, son of Mrs. Chatty Chapman of Florence, Texas; attended Southwest State Teachers College at San Marcos. On April 1, 1943, he volunteered for the Army Air Force at Lancaster, Calif., and was sent to Deming, New Mexico and Douglas, Arizona, for training. Served overseas from July 30, 1945, until Nov. 1, 1945, in the Southwest Pacific on Okinawa, Philippines, Saipan, China, India, and Burma. He wears the D.F.C., Air Medal, and Purple Heart. Before entering the Army Air Force, 2nd Lt. Chapman served as an Army Basic Flight instructor in a Civil Contract School. He is now A.A.F. Reserve Officer. [as of 1948]
