SIMS, Larry Roy, Staff
Sergeant.
Let us not forget Staff Sergeant Larry Roy Sims, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, SSG Sims served our country until September 12th, 1968 in bing Long, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and married when he died from small arms fire. His body was recovered. Larry was born on September
21st, 1946 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, the son of
Howard and Betty
Sims. Howard was the youngest
son of Samuel Austin and Alice
Rosalie (Profitt) Sims. Howard was a WW2 Veteran, as was his brother,
Richard Sims, aand so many local [Burnet] relatives.
SSG Sims is on panel 44W, line 041 of the Veterans
Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 4
years.
