Raymond Edmond Guptill Jr.

Memorial services will be announced for Raymond Edmond Guptill Jr., 21, of Port O’Connor, who died on Oct. 2, 2002.

He was born May 14, 1981 in Keene, N. H., the son of Raymond E. Guptill Sr. of Houma, La. and Shelly Scott of Walker, La.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Guptill, Donna McFarland and Mary G. Rather.
Survivors include a stepmother, Jeanna Guptill of Port O’Connor; stepfather, Edward Edeburn of Walker, La. grandparents, Delmer and Bobbie Scott of Port O’Connor; four sisters, Ginger R. Guptill of Port O’Connor, Jessica White of New Hampshire, Daniell M. Bryant of Port Lavaca and Sarenna a Guptill of Louisiana; two brothers, Josha W. Bertrand of San Antonio and Thomas J. Quibel of Louisiana and nephews and nieces.

Richardson/Colonial Funeral Home, 361-552-2988 is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Leal Jr.

Joseph Leal Jr., 26, of Port Lavaca, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002.

He was born June 24, 1976 in Port Lavaca, the son of Joseph “Joe” Leal Sr. and Connie Heysquierdo Pena of Port Lavaca. He was married to April Perez Leal of Port Lavaca. He was self employed as a floor installer and a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Senaida “Sadie” Galindo Leal and a brother, Anthony “Tony” Galvan.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a grandfather, Abram Leal Sr. of Port Lavaca; two daughters, Darian Perez Leal of Port Lavaca and Mariah Sadie Leal of Port Lavaca; two sons, Joseph Anthony Leal of Port Lavaca and Marcus Anthony Leal of Port Lavaca; two brothers, Jacinto Leal of Port Lavaca and Stephen Joseph Leal of Port Lavaca.

A funeral Mass was recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. There was a visitation at 5 p.m. Monday at Artero Memorial Chapels of Port Lavaca. A rosary was recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Burial was in the Port Lavaca Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jacinto Leal, John Leal, John David Galindo, Daniel Perez, James Perez and Eric Perez. Honorary pallbearers were D. Joe Perez, Tim Strakos, Markie Martinez, Ray Velasquez, Jerry Leal, Carver Mangum and Hilburn Heysquierdo.

Artero Memorial Chapels of Port Lavaca, 552-2300 was in charge of arrangements.
