Cass County WPA Sewing Room Work Description of Cass County in 1878 This information was found in the vertical files of the genealogy department of the Longview Public Library. THE AVINGER CITIZEN MARION COUNTY CUT FROM CASS Marion county was cut from the southern part of Cass county and organized by an acto fo the Legislature in 1861. An act in April 3, 1861 appointed Isaac Clair the County Commissioner, under oath to run and make the county line between the county or Marion, Cass and Titus. His filed notes creating the line between Cass and Marion counties were filed May 28, 1861. |
