Lillian Dorthey Morris

Morris, Lillian Dorthey Grimes (93)

Heavens angels called Dorthey home unexpectedly on October 30th, 2011.
Dorthey was the 10th child born to Dean and Annie Grimes on August 11th, 1918 in Hebron, Texas. Dorthey attended Hebron schools and later married Carl W. Morris, Sr. on January 17th, 1942 and raised two children in Carrollton, Texas. Dorthey retired from Texas Instruments where she worked for 22 years. After Carl and Dorthey both retired they loved spending time at their farm in East Texas. They also loved to travel around and spend time at trade days in different cities. Dorthey loved spending time with family, cooking, sewing, gardening and caring for stray animals.

Dorthey is preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Morris, Sr., daughter Carol Morris Ramsey, and grandson James Ramsey. Dorthey is survived by her son, Carl William Morris, Jr. and wife Mary, grandson's Shannon Morris and wife Jamie, Blake Morris and wife Jennifer, Matt Morris, Phillip Morris and two great-grandchildren, Corey and Logan.

Dorthey spent the last 2 years at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Carrollton where she made many friends. The Morris family would like to thank the nursing staff for all the loving care they provided Dorthey during her stay and will be forever grateful for the love and care they provided her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 from 6-8 at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 S. I-35 E. Carrollton, Texas 75006. 972-242-5261

Graveside services will be at 10am., Wednesday, November 2nd at Furneaux Cemetery, on Cemetery Hill Road, 1/2 block south from its intersection with Rosemeade Parkway, Carrollton, Texas.

Arrangements under the direction of Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton, TX.
