Furneaux Elementary
Early settlers of Peters Colony, the Furneauxs were a wealthy farming
family. In the early 1900s, before there were public schools, William
Furneaux hired a teacher and used has home on Furneaux road in Carrollton as
a private school for area children. Furneaux Elementary School, which opened
in 1981, is named in honor of this family and their commitment to educating
the children of Carrollton. |
