June R. Thompson Elementary
(formerly Woodlake Elementary School)
Woodlake Elementary was built in 1974 in Carrollton’s Woodlake residential
area. June Thompson, the school’s first principal, was also the first woman
to serve as principal of an individual school in the Carrollton-Farmers
Branch ISD. Thompson served on the school Board from 1988 to 1994. In 1996,
Woodlake was renamed the June Rhoton Thompson Elementary School. |
