  Eva Katharina Dischinger was born in Bonfeld, Germany on September 5, 1810 and died  in Mason County, Texas on January 9, 1901.

Eva Katharina Dischinger met and married John Adam Schussler in Germany.  They left Bonfeld in Worttenberg Province in Southern Germany for the Republic of Texas in 1845. They sailed on the ship "Dyle" from Antwep.  Along with their parents were the following children: John, Conrad, Jacob, Christina and Katharina.  Their oldest son had died in Germany.  

The family arrived in Galveston and soon left for Indianola.  It was during their stay at Indionola that their baby daughter Katharina died.  They lived for a while in New Braunfels then removed to their land grant in Mason County.  They named the place Cherry Springs and built their home there.  Three more children were born to them: Louie, Herman, and Adolph. Adolph died at four years of age.  

Eva and her family lived in other Mason County towns.  Their children grew and took on the duties of landowners and stock growers.  They were industrious and hardworking people.

Eva's husband, John Adam Schuessler, died on April 7,1884 and is buried in the Crosby Cemetery in Mason Texas. She was listed as living with her son John and family on the 1900 Mason County, Texas census.  Eva died January 9, 1901 and is buried in the Crosby Cemetery in Mason County.
