JOHN ADAM SCHUESSLER was born August 24, 1811 in Bonfeld, Wurttenberg Province.  He died April 7, 1884 in Mason, Texas.

John Adam Schuessler and his wife Eva came to Texas in 1845 aboard the ship Dyle and landed at Indianola.  They received their land grand for 320 acres from the Republic of Texas in Bexar County.  They settled in what is now Gillespie County.  They called their place Cherry Springs.  They had three sons born to them in Texas.  They were Louis born in 1849; Herman born in 1850; and Adolph born in 1852.  One daughter Katharina died as a child.  
The Schuesslers moved to Mason County where they were devoted members of the Lutheran Church and donated land for a church. John's parents were Conrad Schuessler and Eva Bender.  John's wife was Eva Katharina Dischinger who was born September 5, 1810 and died January 9, 1901.  They are buried in the Crosby Cemetery at Mason.
