WEST SHADY GROVE CEMETERY

West Shady Grove cemetery is located to the South and West of Jacksonville, Texas, On County road 1904 which turns to the West off State Road 747 South of the Pierce's Chapel community. It is in a very scenic but lonely spot on a hill covered with old growth oak trees. It has a small permanent pavilion and a paved drive-thru. It is well maintained. There are some temporary markers that have become unreadable and several sandstone blocks which mark graves but give no clue to the individual buried there. These are not included in the listing, so just be aware of them.
