Welcome to the La Porte, Texas, Family History and
Genealogy web site. La Porte is located in Harris County,
approximately 25 miles southeast of Houston on the shores of beautiful
Galveston Bay. This is a Free Access, Noncommercial web site, a part of the
TXGenWeb and USGenWeb Projects, dedicated to family history and
genealogy research. Currently this site is under
development. If you have any questions, would like to
volunteer, if you have any genealogical or historical books,
manuscripts, papers, etc. pertaining to La Porte, other
resources you would like to share and/or present on this web site,
suggestions, cemetery surveys, census transcriptions, please
