By state law, death certificates can only be obtained if 25 or more years have passed from the date of death, unless you are the immdiate family of the deceased.
The State of Texas defines 'immediate family' as "self, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, and spouse".

Death Certificates dated 1989 to 2014 will not be added to this index.
