MATTIE GIBSON Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Central Baptist Church for Mrs. MATTIE GIBSON, 93, one of Bronte's oldest citizens. She died at 12:05 p.m. Monday in Bronte Hospital, following a long illness. The Rev. WAYNE N. STOUT, Central Baptist pastor, and the Rev. HARRY MORRIS, pastor of First Baptist Church, conducted the funeral. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Williams Funeral Home of Bronte. Mrs. Gibson was born MATTIE WARNER, May 10, 1872, in East Texas. She married in 1891 to A. M. GIBSON. Mr. GIBSON died in 1911. Mrs. GIBSON moved her family to Coke County in 1913 and had been a resident of this area since that time. She was a Baptist. Survivors include one son, FLOYD GIBSON of Tennyson; two daughters, Mrs. MAE MCQUEEN and Mrs. OLIN ALLISON, both of Bronte; one sister, Mrs. RUTH SPENCER of Bronte; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were O. R. MCQUEEN, N0AH PRUITT, JR., GARLAND SPENCER, MERL ANDREWS, JACK CORLEY and HENRY ROGERS.
