Patrick W. Rutherford, 54, who had been for almost 15 years on the Waco police force, died at his residence at 1914 Windsor Avenue at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Rutherford had been in Waco 15 years and was on the police force during this time up to several months ago. Funeral services will be held from Compton's chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. M.M. Chunn officiating, assisted by Rev. Mr. Patterson and Rev. Mr. Fort. Burial will be in Rosemound cemetery. Pallbearers will be A.H. Drummond, R. Bolinger, Aubrey Morris, W.B. Mobley, Mickey Taylor, Will Frederick. All members of the Odd Fellows lodge here will be honorary pallbearers. Odd Fellows will have charge at the grave. Surviving are his widow (Pearl Rushing Rutherford); three sisters, Mrs. George Lowe and Mrs. Tom Steed of Fort Worth and Mrs. Joe Harrington of Mineral Wells. Mr. Rutherford served during the Spanish-American war in Company H, Fourth Texas Infantry, from June 29, 1898, to March 7, 1899.
