WARE posted by Travis Monday on Monday, August 18, 1997

I am researching the life of R.C. (Dick) WARE, the first sheriff of Mitchell County, Texas. I already have Lore and Legend of Mitchell County, and the copy of the Colorado City Record that highlighted his life recently in connection with the dedication of the new Ware Unit in Colorado City. I am looking for any information about Dick WARE that any one has that might not be contained in the resources already mentioned. Also, I am looking for any pictures of Dick WARE that may have survived. The only one I've seen is the one possessed by the Heart of West Texas Museum in Colorado City.

HOGGARD, ROGERS, SHULTS posted by Glenn Box on Tuesday, September 23, 1997

SAeeking info on the families of William Calvin HOGGARD, and his wife Paulina SHULTS. They and their children moved out of the Coleman County area, where their son William Jennings HOGGARD was born. The family eventually moved to the Indian and Oklahoma Territories around 1894. Any info appreciated, the family was also located in Bell and Grayson counties during this time, as William Calvin HOGGARD was a Methodist minister in this area. Would be glad to share any info, including their ties to the Silas ROGERS family in the same region, before and after the civil war.
GILLIAM, PATRICK, SPARKMAN posted by Sue Eagle Sparkman on Tuesday, September 23, 1997

Am researching the SPARKMAN lineage of my husband. Would love to know if there are any descendants of William Lewis Sparkman (1855-1950) and Mollie GILLIAM still living in the Coleman County area. My husband is a grandson of the late Lewis Napolean " Pole" Sparkman (1891- 1976) & Ollivia Pittman PATRICK (1890-1975). Pole and Ollie as she was known moved to Young County where most of their 6 children were born, and then about 1939 they moved to Stephenville, Erath Co., where they remained the rest of their lives. William Lewis Sparkman died on Brown Ranch, Coleman Co., Texas in 1950. He and his wife Mollie Gilliam were the parents of 10 children. Have oodles of information on the Sparkman's before William Lewis, and quite a bit on this particular family but would love to update descendants. Am trying to compile a book for a Christmas gift for my father-in-law. Any help greatly appreciated! You can e-mail me or contact me by snail mail at 1526 Berkeley Drive., Mansfield, Texas 760630-2945. THANKS!
