that church. He was also a Mason, according to his marker. His wife was
Rebecca Ann MOORE, and they came to Texas from McCracken County, Ky in
1844. He established the Old Concord Baptist Church in Hunt County. I have
much information about his descendents that I will share. Thank you very

I am researching the HINDS family from Stacey/Stacy, Texas. My mother grew
up there and her two brothers were born there. I realize the town no longer
exists, but she often spoke of Coleman, Tx. Perhaps the county records
in Coleman would have some information concerning my family. There were
several HINDS families living in the area and all were related. In fact,
my great uncle Thomas Pinkham HINDS is buried at Coleman. Following is
some pertinent information concerning my HINDS family. George Washington
HINDS, b. 11 Jan 1870 in AR. Married Lona JOHNSON 4 Sept 1892 Children:
Iva HINDS, b. 4 Mar 1894 Ora HINDS, b. 18 Nov. 1895 Eva HINDS (my mother)
b. 4 Sept 1898 Roy HINDS, b. 13 Oct 1901 James HINDS, b. 19 Jan 1905 in
Stacy, Coleman Co., TX Apparently my HINDS family arrived in Coleman County
between 1901 and 1905. There could be marriage records for the two older
HINDS girls, land records, perhaps, birth record for James. I would be
interested in any books about this area also. Any information you can provide
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
