COTTLE and KING COUNTY VETERANS of ALL WARS

This great nation, has time and time again, called on its young men to take up arms and defend our freedom. From the time that our ancesters stepped off the Mayflower at Plymoth Rock until World Trade Center 9-11-2001, leaders have said, "we shall make those who transgress against us pay". The youth of this nation have gone forth, stood fast in battle and defeated the enemys of The United States of America. We have lost some battles but always won the war. Those lost battles that I recall in my lifetime, 1941 Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; 1951 Chosen Resevior, Korea; 1965 Ira Drang Vally, Viet Nam, and the 2001World Trade Center New York City. Only those who have faced an enemy trying to stay alive can understand the fear and terror of battle. There is no glory in war, no shame in being afraid, only pain and suffering for the unfortunate ones whose bodies were maimed, minds scared and recovery a long hard struggle. Those who lost their lives will never be forgotten by their comrads, almost 50 years after my first expsoure to combat, I sometimes hear the screams of agony, see the terror in my comrads faces and hear their last ragged breath, endured a terror that only those who have been there understand.

This page is dedicated to all who have served their country. Please e-mail their names, dates of service, conflict, and if they were killed in action, wounded in action, if they are living or deceased and the branch they served (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine or Coast Gaurd)
