Services for Amanda Thomas, 73 of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Progressive Baptist Church with the Rev. Homer Avery officiating.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home.
She died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Lubbock's Health Care Center.
She was born April 10, 1925, in Lorenzo. She married George Thomas on Jan. 25, 1960, in Lubbock. He died June 25, 1980. She moved to Lubbock from Lorenzo. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Ford Memorial Church of God in Christ and the Usher Board.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Byrd, Willie Byrd and Robert Byrd, all of Lubbock; a daughter, Katie Williams of Lubbock; three brothers, Norveal Young and Norman Young of Lubbock and Birtis Young of Lovington; two sisters, Mable Young and Opal Thomas, both of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
