Obituary

Services for Mary Alldredge, 82, of Hereford were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 1997, at Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tom Taylor of Crosbyton, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mrs. Alldredge died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997, in Hereford Care Center following an illness.

She was born in Dumont, TX, on Sept. 25, 1914, to Uncle Johnnie and Lela Parker, early settlers of Crosby County. She married Marshall Alldredge on October 1934. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1997. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She had worked at the 82 Cafe and Crosbyton Care Center. She had attended the Pansy School and Crosbyton schools.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Shannon Capps.

Survivors include a son, Delwin Royce Alldredge of Cottonwood, Calif.; three daughters, Nelda Capps of Santa Rosa, N.M., Sue Boggs of Hereford and Mary Wampler of Seymour; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services for Marshall Alldredge, 82, of Hereford will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Crosbyton Primitive Baptist Church with elder Hulen Bass of Ropesville officiating.

Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Alldredge died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Hereford´s Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Goldthwaite. He married Mary Parker in 1934. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church and the Ten Century Club. He moved to Hereford in 1994. He worked for Central Freight Line until retiring in 1983. He also farmed in the McAdoo community. He moved to the Crosbyton area in 1946, then to Santa Rosa in 1988 and then to Hereford in 1994.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Sammie Alldredge and a grandson, Shannon Capps.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Delwin Royce of Cottonwood, Calif.; three daughters, Nelda Capps of Santa Rosa, N.M., Sue Boggs of Hereford and Mary Wampler of Seymour; two brothers, Walker of Melbourne, Fla., and Max of Spur; three sisters, Leda Fry of Spur, Veta Parker of Gainesville and Wilma Gowens of Floydada; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
