David Aynes

Funeral services for David E. Aynes, 67, of Lubbock, were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Lubbock funeral home chapel, and burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery. A long-time resident of this city, Mr. Aynes died at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.

Rev. Dick Schmidt, pastor of St. Mark´s Presbyterian Church in Lubbock, officiated.

Aynes, a resident of Crosbyton for many years where he operated a furniture store, was a native of Jacksboro. He was a member of the first graduating class of Lubbock High School in 1912. After leaving Crosbyton he lived for a number of years at Roswell, NM, before moving to Lubbock about nine years ago. At the time of death he was retired.

He had been in ill health for about two years and had been hospitalized two weeks before his death.

Survivors include his wife; one son, David E. Aynes Jr., Lamesa; two daughters, Mrs. R.K. Ralls, of Ralls and Mrs. E.E. Jones, Lubbock; and four sisters, Mrs. Gip Smith, Waco; Mrs. Marie Dickey, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Annelle Grogan, Crosbyton, and Mrs. J. Homer Beal Sr., Gail.
