Services for Donnie Berry, 75, of McAdoo, will be at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robby Harris, Rev. John Ballard and Rev. Claylon Coursey officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Donnie passed away on Jan. 20, 2009, at VistaCare Center, in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Whitney, Texas, to the late Cecil Walker and Irene Henderson Berry. On January 3, 1954 he married Margaret Ann Harris in McAdoo.

Donnie was a member of the McAdoo First Baptist Church, a 52 year endowed member of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020, a member of Emma Masonic Lodge #931, the 93rd Masonic Hilltop District, York Rite, KCCH Scottish Rite, Past Patron of the Crosbyton Order of the Eastern Star, Past Master and Secretary and of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge. He was a 20 year director of the Duck Creek Soil and Water Conservation Board, served on Four Winds R C & D Board, and served on the Board of the Associated Cotton Growers. He was a charter member of the McAdoo Volunteer Fire Department. He also served on the Dickens County Livestock Association Board.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a farmer and rancher in Dickens County for most of his life.

Donnie is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Bond and Frances Copeland; and two brothers, Marshall Berry and Pat Berry.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of McAdoo; a son, Bill Berry, of McAdoo; two daughters and their husbands, Becky and Denny Graham, of Waco, and Barbara and Charlie Bogart, of McAdoo; two brothers, Jim Berry, of Lubbock, Glenn Berry of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Betty Daniel, of Dublin, Texas; and six grandchildren, Michael and Cameron Graham, Kayla and Tyler Berry and Drew and Mandy Bogart.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.

The family suggests memorials to the McAdoo Volunteer Fire Dept. Box 76 McAdoo, TX 79243, and the Scottish Rite Learning Center 5744 40th St. Lubbock, TX 79407.
