Griffin Odom

U.S.Flag CROSBYTON (Special) - Services for Griffin Odom, 7, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. today at the Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Michael Rodgers, pastor, ad Elder George Johnson, pastor of Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Odom died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 1993, in the Barnes St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.

He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Sterling City and had lived in Bowie before moving to the Crosbyton area in 1930. He married Willie Ruth Dunn on March 28, 1937, in Crosbyton. He was a member of Crosbyton´s Primitive Baptist Church. He was a 1934 graduate of Crosbyton High School and also had attended Smith Ward School. He worked 57 years as a barber and had owned Model Clothier and Cleaners in Crosbyton and Lubbock. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Andrea Miller of St. Peters, Mo.; a sister, Fay Ainsworth of Lubbock; two stepsisters, Emma Ruth Mize of Crosbyton and Bernice Moses of Ralls; and two grandchildren.
