Diane Pierantoni

Rose Spray
Davina "Diane" Pierantoni passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004, called home by our Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.

Her memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo with Rev. Roger Roenfeldt, chaplain of VistaCare Hospice of San Angelo, officiating.

Burial was held in private at Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Diane was born March 30, 1936, in Edinburgh, Scotland, to David S. Newberry, Chief Inspector of Detectives for the City of Edinburgh, and Enid Stampe Newberry, his loving wife of 50 years.

After receiving her RSA degree, Diane became a court reporter for the Edinburgh court system, during which time she met and married a U.S. Air Force sergeant

Their marriage took them all over the world, to places such as Greece, Italy, Crete and Germany. She married Robert James "Bob" Pierantoni on April 9, 1979, in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Upon her husband's retirement from service in 1980, the family settled in San Angelo. Diane was employed by Mitsubishi Aircraft at that time and she became a naturalized American citizen.

In 1987 Diane began her employment and continued friendship with Tom Berscheidt and his company, Turbine Aircraft Services, where she was office manager until the present time as her illness allowed.

Diane was known for her great sense of humor and her incredible talent of finding time for everyone.

She lived by the Golden Rule and remains special to so many people. Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Robert "Bob" Pierantoni of San Angelo; two daughters, Mary Parkhill and husband Jim, and Ruth Davis, all of Crosbyton; a son, David Atkinson of Abilene; six grandchildren, Paige and C.J. Parkhill, Quinten and Madison Davis, and Sam and Ben Atkinson; her mother-in-law, Cecil Pierantoni of San Angelo; and her best friends for more than 40 years, Kay and Larry Hendel of San Angelo.

Honorary pallbearers are Tom Bersheidt, David Fenley, Byron Kypfer, Rick Wheldon, Pat Cannon and Larry Hendel. The family wishes to thank VistaCare Hospice of San Angelo for their loving support, and suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or your charity of choice.
