Obituary

Doyle D. Thornhill, a Crosbyton resident for over half a century, was claimed by death at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a prolonged illness.

Mr. Thornhill was 74.

Memorial services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Pansy Baptist Church. The Rev. Leonard Sims, pastor of First Baptist Church in Matador, and the Rev. Stanley Nixon, pastor of the Pansy Church, officiated.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of King Funeral Home.

Masonic graveside rites were conducted.

A Jack County native, Mr. Thornhill came here in 1917. He farmed until his retirement two years ago.

The deceased was a Mason and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two son, Jack Thornhill of Crosbyton and Charles Thornhill of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, T.E. Thornhill of Crosbyton; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Miller of Dickens and Mrs. Doris Clark of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
