Jessie Davenport´s Services Are Pending

RALLS (Special) - Funeral services for Jessie Buell Davenport, 67, former resident of Ralls, are pending at Carter Funeral Home.

Davenport, a retired farmer, died Thursday at Noel, Mo. where he had moved two years ago.

He was born at Ennis, Tex.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dale, Whitaker, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Finley Herrington, Lorenzo, Mrs. Jessie McDonald, Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Lyla Lez, Lake Wood, Calif., Mrs. Bobbie Walters, Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Sharon Proctor, Belle Garden, Calif.; two brothers, Earl, Jackson Ken., and Elbert, Compton, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren.

Alta Mae Davenport

Services for Mrs. Alta Mae Davenport, 71, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lorenzo Baptist Church with the Rev. John Jenkins, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Davenport died Wednesday morning in Methodist Hospital at Lubbock.

Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Davenport was a native of Wolfe City and had been a resident of Lorenzo since 1968, moving there from Los Angeles, CA.

Survivors include a son, Dale Davenport of La Habra, CA; five daughters, Mrs. Finley Herrington of Lorenzo, Mrs. Jesse McDonald of Riverside, CA, Mrs. Lila Lev of Lakewood., CA., Mrs. Bobbie Walers of Nashville, TN, and Mrs. Sharon Proctor of Cucamonga, CA; a brother, Jeff Melton of Spearman; four sisters, Mrs. Josie Watson of Lakeview, Mrs. Dailor Wheeler of Littlefield, Mrs. Neoma Jones of Crosbyton and Ms. Ruth Davis of Plainview; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
