Services for Lela Jackson, 86, of San Antonio, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 31, 1995, in the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Chuck Williams, pastor of the Live Oak Community Church in Lubbock officiating.

Burial followed in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Mrs. Jackson died at 9:26 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 1995, in the North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio following an illness.

She was born March 13, 1909 in Ada, OK, and married Charles Elbert Jackson August 19, 1925 in Lubbock, TX. He preceded her in death June 4, 1983. She was a homemaker and was active in civic and church groups in Altus, OK, the Center Community, Abernathy, Lubbock and Lorenzo. She moved to Lorenzo in 1977 from Lubbock, then to San Antonio in November 1993.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Byrd of Vienna, VA., Charlene Fullingim of Petersburg, TX., and Paula Gatlin of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Jack Tarkenton of Prescott, AZ; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons.
