LORENZO (Special) - Services for Wilson F. Maxey, 76, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Watson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Maxey died at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday in Lubbock's St. Mary of the Plains Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Lubbock and had lived in Amarillo and Clarendon before moving to Lorenzo in 1985. He married Elizabeth Taylor on Dec. 23, 1939, in Amarillo. She died in 1983. He graduated from Lorenzo High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He had been mayor of Howardwick, a carpet salesman, a Mason and a board member of the Lorenzo Senior Citizens. He was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include a brother, Chester of Lorenzo.
Pallbearers will be Dee Maxey, Bobby Maxey, Mike Dana, James O'Rear, Bobby Joe Jennings and Marvin Terrell.
