Irene Chapman LORENZO - Irene Chapman went to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2003, at the age of 83. Services will be at First Baptist Church of Lorenzo on Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Irene was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Electra, Texas, to Calib and Mattie Moss. She married J. B. Chapman in Clovis, N.M., on Dec. 24, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1978. She graduated from Robertson High School. She was a certified welder and worked on battleships in Oregon during World War II. She was active in Girl Scouts and the Eastern Star, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Condron of Lubbock, and Betty Pickard and husband Edward of Converse, Texas; a sister, LaVern Reynolds of Amarillo; her pride and joy, three grandchildren, Noah Pickard and wife Amanda and Amanda Pickard, all of Converse, Texas, and Josh Condron of Lubbock; and two great-grandchildren, Collin and Haley Pickard of Converse. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Oma Martin, Ida Mae Moss, Florene Shelton and Vernie May Moss. The family suggests memorials to your favorite charity.
