U.S.Flag   Servies for Joe Chavez, 49, of Lubbock were at 10 a.m., Wednesday March 28, 2001 at Sacred Sacred Heart Catholic Church in petersburg with the Rev. Timothy Judd officiating..

Rosary was at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.

He died on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at University Medial Center in Lubbock.

He was born on April 19, 1951, in Rosebud, TX.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg. He was a 1970 graduate of Petersburg High School. He was a self-employed roofer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He moved to Lubbock in 1980 from Petersburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Juan Manuel Chavez.

Survivors include eight brothers, Frank of Lubbock, Jesse Sr., Pete and Robert, all of Plainview, Alfred Sr. and David, both of Petersburg, Roy of Amarillo and Simon of Springfield. Mo.; and two sisters, Angelita Garza of Lubbock and Margaret Perez of Fort Worth
