Services for Jewell Elizabeth Hinson Bumpous Gilbert, 91, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Resthaven Chapel with Jim Michelle, minister of Wolfforth Church of Christ, officiating.Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilbert died at 12:30 p.m. Friday in her home after an illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1892, in Rosalie in Red River County [TX]. She moved to the Lubbock area in 1928. She married Clyde Malcolm Bumpous April 19, 1908, in Pittsburg, Texas. He died May 2, 1922. She married Leslie Gilbert, who died in March 1940. She was a member of the Wolfforth Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J. D. (Deloise) McKnight of Lubbock; a sister, Mrs. Layton Bedingfield of Ralls; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
