Johnson Slated At Ralls
RALLS (Special) - Laverne Johnson, 59, of Ralls died about 5 p.m. Friday in St. Mary of the Plains Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Emma Church of Christ in Ralls with Jerry Hestand, minister, officiating, assisted by James Eubanks, former minister. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
A native of Mitchell, S.D., Johnson was a farmer and had lived in the South Plains area since 1915.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Max Johnson of Lubbock; a daughter, Jan Johnson of Lubbock; two brothers, Marland Johnson of Susanville, Calif., and C.J. Johnson of Slaton; and a sister, Mrs. Una Bales of Susanville.
