Sarah Ann Hendricks  was born on January 22, 1828 in Lawrence County, Alabama. She was the Daughter of Jeremiah  and Celia Williford Hendricks. Sarah Ann married Elisha H. Gambell in Mount Pleasant, Cass County, Texas on April 26, 1842. They had nine children, Virginia Ann, Mary Francis, Feliz Henry, Andrew Jackson, Jeremiah, Celia Temperance, Joseph Milton, Mary Mollie, and Martha Elizabeth. Sarah Ann died on Dec 15, 1859 in Cass County Texas.  She served the Republic of Texas in the capacity of a Citizen and Homemaker.
