Federation of Genealogical Societies

The Federation of Genealogical Societies, founded in 1976, has three major purposes: serving the needs of its member societies, providing products and services needed by member societies, and marshaling the resources of its member organizations. This year’s conference was in Little Rock on 2-5 September, 2009. Next year is in Knoxville, TN on 18-21 August 2010.

Dallas Genealogical Society

DGS sponsors an annual lecture series of nationally-known speakers whose topics focus on research in specific localities and/or time periods, ethnic groups that populated colonial and post-Revolutionary America, genealogical repositories and resources; and methodology and problem-solving techniques. 

National Genealogical Society

The National Genealogical Society, a non-profit organization founded in 1903, is the premier national society for everyone from the beginner to the most advanced family historian. Next year’s Conference in the States is in Salt Lake City, Utah on 28 Apr—1 May, 2010.

Texas State Genealogical Society

The Texas State Genealogical Society was founded in 1960 at Fort Worth, Texas.  It is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation.  Individuals, Societies, Libraries, Museums and Family Surname Associations may apply for membership. This year’s conference is in San Antonio on 6-7 November, 2009.

New England Historic Genealogical Society

The New England Historic Genealogical Society advances genealogical scholarship and develops the capabilities of both new and experienced researchers of family history by collecting, preserving, interpreting, and communicating in a variety of accessible formats reliable genealogical data with emphasis on families and communities connected to New England.

Angelina College Genealogy Conference

A number of our members have attended in years past, and were very impressed with the programs. The speakers, sessions, and vendors were well worth the trip to Lufkin. This year’s conference was in Lufkin at the Angelina College campus, 16-18 July 2009.  Dates have not been announced for 2010.
