Miss Minnie Sedwick, 76, of the Duncan Flat community, a resident of Dickens County since 1916, died Saturday afternoon. A stomach ailment and other infirmities brought on by old age were given as causes of her death.Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Duncan Flat church with Rev. H.L. Burnham officiating.
Burial was in the Afton cemetery with the Burton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sedwick was born in West Virginia, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John H. Etter. She moved to Dickens County from Willow Point in Jack County. She was married to M.A. Sedwick March 10, 1899. Mr. Sedwick died last January.
Names of children who survive are Mrs. W.B. Carothers, Mrs. Andrew Cook and Oby Sedwick; C.I. Sedwick, J.R. Sedwick, and Arthur Sedwick, stepchildren, all of whom live in Dickens County.
Fourteen grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Fred Christopher, D.W. Hughes, H.H. Woods, L.H.McWilliams, D.P. Smiley, and R.H. Hill. Flower bearers were Florine, Lorine, Callie, Minnie Pearl and Ethel Sedwick; Agnes, Betty and Jean Carothers, and Louise cook.
Mrs. Sedwick united with the Methodist Church at the age of 18.
