Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Afton, for Mrs. Jo Ann Thomason, 36. Rev. Genoa Goad, Goree, officiated; assisted by Rev. Donald Hancock, Afton.
Mrs. Thomason was killed in a car-truck collision 7 miles west of Dickens on Highway 82.
She had been a resident of Afton and Dickens County all of her life. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Lynn Thomason, Dickens; two sons, Jay Lyle Thomason and Jerald Dane Thomason, Dickens; her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Pete Hext, Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Moonyeen Bennett, Mrs. Jerry Duke and Mrs. Darla Schwartz; one brother, Jimmy Jack Hext, Afton; maternal grandfather, James Wilson, California.
Pallbearers included Dewey Dement, Omer Clay, Elmer Edwards, Forrest Kimmel, J.W. McAllister, and Speedy Gipson.
Interment was in Afton Cemetery.
