Walter Willmon, 93, passed away Friday, September 12, 2003, at his residence in Odessa.

Services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2003, at Tanglewood Church of Christ in Odessa, TX. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2003 at Afton Cemetery in Afton, TX. Services were entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Odessa, TX.

He was born January 23, 1910, to John B. and Emma Willmon in Callahan County, Texas.

He was a retired plant operator from Philips Petroleum. He married Almer Baker on November 26, 1988, in Fritch, TX. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Alice V. Willmon in 1984; his father, John Willmon of Amarillo; his mother Emma L. Willmon, a son, James B. Willmon; brothers, Pinkney, John, and Raymond Willmon; sisters, Catherine Jane, Celeta Florence Augusta, and Emma Lois.

Survivors include his wife Almer P. Willmon of Odessa; sons, Frank L. and wife, Linda Willmon of Amarillo; Fred W. and wife, Sarah Willmon of Aztec, NM; and William (Bill) H. and wife, Mary Willmon of redding, CA; daughter, Lula Brownlee of Amarillo; stepson Joe Dan and wife, Loretta Baker of Odessa; brother Clarence Wilmon of Gruver, TX; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
