- Death Certificates: $21.00
- Birth Certificates: $23.00 (application required)
- Marriage Certificates: $8.00
- Check or money order to be made out to Dickens County Clerk at address above.
Inquiries and research by mail require a return envelope. Records are stored on site at the County Clerk´s office, are indexed and staff will locate records. Application needed for non-public records on Texas Open Records Act for Birth and Death Certificates and drivers license will be used as proof to justify need of record. Adoption records are sealed and would need court order to view. Divorce records are available and will need year papers were filed and last name of both parties.

- Records are kept on Military Discharges and some school records are available.
The first person to go before the Grand Jury was J.M. King on a charge of Burglary. The Grand Jury having failed to find a bill of indictment, he was discharged.The first Criminal Case in District Court was THE STATE OF TEXAS VS, WILLIS EDWARDS, No. 1, Dated: 13 June, 1891, Charge: Unlawfully carrying on and about his person, a pistol. Transferred to Lower Courts.
The first County Criminal Case was: THE STATE OF TEXAS VS. J.J. HALE, No. 1. Charge: Drunkeness in Office,. Filed August 3, 1891.
The first County Court Civil case was: JASON PICKELSIMON VS. J.A. ASKINS & J.S. FOX, NO. 1, Suit for Damages, filed May 30, 1892.
The first Probate Court case was: W.C. LANMAN, DECEASED, filed July 11, 1892. (Civil War Veteran and first School Teacher on Croton Flat before the County was organized).
The first Lunacy case was; STATE OF TEXAS VS. B.J. OSBORN, NO. 1. Charge: Lunacy, filed July 11, 1892. Case dismissed for lack of evidence.
