U.S.Flag  Services for William Cole Jackson, 74, of Dickens, were Wednesday, August 5, 1998 at the Bible Church of the Nazarene in Dickens with Rev. Clifford Mayo officiating. Burial was in the Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Jackson was born May 22, 1924 in Minor Hill, Tennessee. He died August 3, 1998 at his home in Dickens. He married Johnnie Lavern Diggs on May 19, 1946 in Plainview.

Mr. Jackson was a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 1884. He began work for Mark Day Construction of Lubbock in 1945. He also worked for Forrest Lumber Co. He was a Superintendent of construction for W. G. McMillian Construction until his retirement. Various projects included the construction of the fountain at the Texas Tech University entrance, the bank at Slaton, the bank at Pampa and numerous United Supermarkets. After retirement he did various woodworking projects.

Mr. Jackson resided in Dickens the last two years upon leaving Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; a son, James D. "Ike" Jackson of East Afton; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
