Funeral services for were held at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Dickens, for Lewis [sic] Delbert Kennedy, 54. Rev. D.J. Peters officiated.
Mr. Kennedy was killed in a car wreck, September 5, on Highway 90, near Marfa. He was a former resident of Dickens.
He was a veteran of World War II serving 28 months in combat. Members of the Spur VFW performed military rites at graveside.
He is survived by three brothers, V.H. Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and O.W. Kennedy; four sisters, Mrs. Addie Buchane, Mrs. Pearl Richey, Mrs. Ruth Partridge and Mrs. Goldie Nichols.
Interment was in Dickens Cemetery.
