Funeral services were held Monday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Dickens for Sabe M. Kennedy, 52, who died in a hospital in Clovis, New Mexico, Saturday, March 15 after an illness of about a week.
Mr. Kennedy was born January 20, 1895 at Roby, Texas and moved to Dickens county with his parents, Mr. And Mrs. K.H. Kennedy at the age of two years. At the age of 14 he was employed by the Pitchfork Ranch, where he worked for years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in France.
Pallbearers were his four sons, Mack, Don, Jimmie and Bob, and two brothers, O.W. and L.D. Kennedy.
Surviving him are his wife of Clovis, New Mexico and four sons, Mack of Lubbock, Don, Jimmie and Bob of Clovis, New Mexico. His Mother, Mrs. Hattie Kennedy of Dickens, four brothers, V.H. Kennedy of Duncan, Arizona, Ted Kennedy of Lordsburg, New Mexico, O.W. and L.D. Kennedy of Paducah, Texas. Mrs. A.J. Richey and Mrs. Ruth Partridge of Dickens, Mrs. William Bouchone of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Cecil Nichols of Baird and Lee Fallis of Melrose, New Mexico and J.H. Miller of McAdoo, both Uncles. An Aunt, Mrs. Joe Gaines of Matador.
