Graveside services for Mrs. Jewel Koon, 81, were held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Dickens Cemetery with Rev. Archie Echols, officiating, assisted by Rev. Victor Crabtree, Dickens.Mrs. Koon died Nov. 26 in a Pittsburg, Texas Hospital. She had been a resident of Dickens County for a number of years and served for 15 years as manager of the Spur Credit Bureau. She was a life member of the WSCS; a Sunday School teacher for 20 years; and was a 45 year member of Women´s Federated Clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Koon, who died in 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Blair, Lone Star; Mrs. Margaret Dickerson, Dallas; two sons, Bill Koon, Stamford and Jim Koon, Hurst; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Koon were held at Lone Star Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Nov. 27 with Rev. Naboni Stanley officiating.
