Funeral services for Alvie Komer Pernell, 61, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Spur Church of Christ. John Franklin, Ft. Worth, officiated, assisted by Earle McDonald, Plainview.

Mr. Pernell, a retired farmer, was dead upon arrival at Community Hospital, Azle. He came to Dickens County in 1923 and resided here until August 1972, when he moved to Azle. He was a member of the Afton Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Pernell, Azle; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Sue Patrick, Azle and Mrs. Barbara Rankin, Ft. Worth; one son, Nicky Dale Pernell, Azle; one step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Cramer, Azusa, California; one step-son, H.B. Goetting, Longview, Washington; three brothers, Monroe Pernell, Graham; Ray Pernell, Van Horn; Clyde Pernell, Dickens; three sisters, Audrey Phillips, Wichita Falls; Ruby Edwards, Dickens; Willie Thannisch, Dickens. Also 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were nephews: Tommy Pernell, Ricky Edwards, Jesse R. Pernell, John Ed Pernell, Charles Edwards and Ray Hardy.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery.
