Obituary

Services for Douglas E. Allen, 79, Lubbock, were held at 2 p.m. February 2, 1992 in First Baptist Church, McAdoo with Rev. Carl Coffey, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, Spur, and Silas Short, minister of Hale Center Curch of Christ, officiating.

Burial was in McAdoo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Crosbyton.

Allen died early Friday in his residence after a lengthy illness. He was under hospice care.

He was born in McAdoo and moved in Lubbock in 1988. He married Ola Mae Faulkner, March 20, 1934 in Spur. He was a farmer and had been a deacon at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Neal Allen, Sweetwater; two daughters, Leola McKelvey, Matador and Nelda Kochis, Lubbock; a brother, John Allen, Jacksonville; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services for Ola Mae Allen, 92, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at the McAdoo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robby Harris officiating. Burial was in the McAdoo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, in Lubbock.

She was born May 18, 1912 in New Waverly to Joseph William and Naomi Missouri Hall Faulkner. On March 20, 1934, she married Douglas Edwin Allen in Spur. He preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1992. She was a homemaker and a member of the McAdoo First Baptist Church. She moved to Lubbock in 1988 from McAdoo.

Survivors include a son, Neal Allen of Sweetwater; two daughters, Leola Mae McKelvey of Matador and Nelda Kochis of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Billy Douglas McKelvey, Bobby Ray McKelvey, Andy Kochis, David Kochis, Danny Kochis and Bill Short.
