Sgt. Otho Powers

Reburial Rites Saturday at 2 p.m. for Sgt. Powers

U.S.Flag   Reburial services for Sgt. Otho Powers, age 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Powers, McAdoo, will be held at the Methodist Church in McAdoo, Saturday, January 15, at 2 p.m. Rev. Cole will officiate the services.

The body of Sgt. Powers will arrive by train Friday, Jan. 14. Campbell's Funeral Chapel will be in charge of the services, with members of the Williams-Puckett Post of the American Legion in charge of the graveside services.

Sgt. Powers was killed in action on Makin Island, in 1942. He was a member of a tank battalion.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Powers, McAdoo, one brother, Coy of McAdoo, and one sister, Mrs. Lynn Johnson of Hobbs, N.M.
