
Final rites were read at 3 p.m. Sunday in McAdoo Church of Christ for Oscar V. Woods, 84, a resident of McAdoo for 43 years.Woods died at 5:45 a.m. Friday at his home. Burial was in McAdoo Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home, Crosbyton.
He was born in Johnson County Oct. 14, 1878, and moved to McAdoo Community in 1920.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Brown, McAdoo; Mrs. Bessie Holmes, Hereford; three sons, D.L., Lubbock; Johnnie, Tulsa, Okla.; Joe, McAdoo; three sisters, Mrs. Irlla Hoffman, Houston, Mrs. Eula Goodner, Ft. Worth; and Mrs. Ohpie Sipe, San Angelo; two brothers, Charles, Denton; J.E., Hoffman; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wood
Funeral rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24 in the King Funeral Home Chapel in Crosbyton for Mrs. Pearl Wood, 88, a longtime resident. A Jehovah Witness ceremoney was held.Interment was made in the McAdoo Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in a Hereford hospital following a brief illness. She had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Holmes.
A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Wood and her late husband moved to McAdoo in 1920.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Brown of McAdoo and Mrs. Bessie Holmes of Hereford; two sons, Johnny Wood of Tulsa, Oklahoma nad Joe Wood of Afton; a brother, Duren Harris of Covington; 28 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
Serving pallbearers were: Early Fulfer, Lawton Harvey, Coy Powers, Eldon Williams, Lilburn Harvey and Oris Pullen.
