SPUR (Special) Services for Flavious Lee Alexander, 76, of Spur will be at 2 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church in Spur with the Revs. Timothy Anderson and Bob Wright and Zeb Alexander and Jeff Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
He died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Spur. He married Vera Reynolds on June 7, 1947, in Spur. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army. He spent most of his life in Dickens County and was a tire salesman and repairman for O.K. Rubber Welders and Farmers Co-Op Gin for 40 years.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, where he was a deacon for 35 years, Sunday school superintendent for 13 years and secretary/treasurer for 12 years. He served on the Spur City Council for two years and the Spur Housing Board for four years. In 1985, he was named the Spur Lions Club employee of the year.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dalvin of Snyder; a daughter, Gloria Anderson of Electra; a brother, Lonnie of Nixa, MO; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
